That said, the PPS number process has edge cases that general guides cannot fully cover. We are happy to answer specific questions by email, particularly where:

• Your documentation does not clearly fit the standard categories described on the DSP's website
• Your application was rejected and you are trying to understand why
• You believe you may already have a PPS number from a previous stay in Ireland
• You need a PPS number for a child and the standard process guidance is unclear in your situation

Response times

Email queries receive a reply within three working days. WhatsApp messages sent during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm Irish time) typically receive a faster response.

If your query concerns a DSP appointment happening soon — for example, you are unsure about a document you need to bring and the appointment is in two days — please mark this clearly in your email subject or WhatsApp message so we can prioritise.
